Been reworking the angel character slightly, modifying the shoulders and hips to get the female proportions of the body correct.
Once I’ve got the proportions correct I can start adding detail – you don’t want to spend hours on the head for example, only to have to destroy it cos you’ve made it too big!
Nothing to do with Dan Brown, but rather a new sculpture I’m working on. The armature was designed so each figure can be seperated from the main piece so they can be worked on separately. The wings and swirls of cloth are also detachable.
The female angel is going to be spearing the male figure (which is going to be a demon) through the chest. I had initially thought about having the female on the bottom but that might’ve had slightly troublesome connotations so decided to do it this way.
The male demon is going to be ‘corrupted’ with tentacles and other mutations. I wanted to get the human form sorted before I start doing anything more outlandish though…
Here’s some more pics of the space marine, just lacking a head hand and backpack now. I’ll also be printing out some decals of ultramarine symbols to decorate the armour.
Here’s some more pics of the Warhammer 40K Space Marine I’ve been working on. I’ve sanded the sculpey down to get a smooth finish and painted it in enamel paints. I’m growing to like these more than acrylics as I find it easier to get a good blend between shades. Still need to sculpt up a head and a backpack for this guy. I had started making a backpack but it’s come out too big so I need to start again. Doh!
Have decided to start a new video project. I was quite fascinated by the patterns produced by dropping red food colouring into water for my last vid, so I decided to branch out and try a few different colours. Not trying to be arty, this is just an easy (and cheap) way to create some interesting images.
I’m also going to try and record some guitar music as a soundtrack.
So, finished the Terminator makeup. Wahoo! Got to admit it was alot harder to apply than I thought it’d be, but then I was applying it to myself with one eye covered without my glasses on. Still, it proved quite difficult and I had particular problems getting the edges of the makeup smoothed down. I think it turned out OK in the end, see what you think though…..
And here’s a short bit of video I decided to put together.
So here’s some pics of the finished Terminator makeup prosthetic piece, all painted and ready to go. I’ll applying this later and shooting some video so will post it once it’s all done.
Just been doing quick test of my chroma key setup. This is very rough (the lights are in the way!), but it’s just to check it all works ahead of shooting the final scenes for the Measure of a Man Music Video
I’ll be compositing shots of the guys in their robot makeup
