I spent a great deal of time at university trying to create make-up based on the Terminator. I've had abit more practice since I last tried, so I thought I'd have another go.
The first step was to make a cast of my face. You usually do this to someone else so it's a little awkward doing it to yourself. I had to leave one eye uncovered so I could see what I was doing!
The make-up was sculpted in clay over the life cast. The metal skull was to be made from fibre glass so this was sculpted seperately from the flesh section.
A silicon mold was made of the sculpt.
The flesh part of the make-up was then sculpted in polymer clay over a fibre glass cast of the metal skull section.
A mold is then made of the flesh section. As this was to be cast in flexible silicon, a rigid mold of plaster was made.
Make-up powder was mixed with the silicon to create a realistic skin tone.
Once the two sections were cast, I tested the make-up to make sure it fit and iron out any potential problems. The third pic includes a photoshopped glowing eye.
Once I was happy with the look I added an LED to the metal skull to create the glowing eye effect.
